Things I've been up to...

Serialised Fiction

Back in November I serialised a Noir Fantasy novel of mine in Substack, and believe me, it was an enormous effort. It taught me a lot about things like how to break up a story into installments without killing its momentum, promotion and audience reception, and recording.

I made recordings, all of which I've taken down in order to work on them further and package them for future use. I present chapter one in audio form here:

The Acton finished two weeks ago and is available on Substack. It's free for the time being. It will go behind the paywall when the audiobook is ready. It's received positive comments from readers:

"The story has been a roller coaster ride from the very beginning, up and down and side to side, I was never quite sure which way it was going to go. I'm feeling kinda dizzy now, and I'm loving every minute of it, looking for the next twist and turn. Keep it coming!"

Latest Published Story

In January, a story of mine, Twins, came out in a print anthology, which I wrote about in my last blog post.

Hosting #Vss365

In March, I was the host /prompter from March 1-15. For this assignment I illustrated the words as playing cards.

What's Next

I should take a break, but I don't know if that's on my dance card right now.

I will write some new stories, do some submissions write in Substack, but what I really want to tackle next is ...radio drama!

Here's a snippet of something I've just started:

Painting

I've started a series of small portraits of Luigi Mangione. This is an essay. Each painting is another way of viewing, another opinion voiced about this controversial figure. I myself am neutral, neither for nor against, and the work I'm doing layers all the POVs I can gather. I will be working on this all summer, with an exhibition in Barcelona at the end of 2025.
